Submit proposals for National Urban Extension Conference by Oct. 1

Iowa State University will host the National Urban Extension Conference in Des Moines, May 2–4, 2011. The conference, themed “The New Extension Commons: Connecting People and Programs,” is targeted to Extension staff members who work in urban and suburban communities. The call for proposals requests that professionals from all aspects of Extension, the university system and partnering agencies submit abstracts for innovative oral, paper and poster presentations that address current and relevant urban issues. The deadline for submitting proposals is October 1.

Michelle Rodgers, Michigan State University Extension associate director for operations, believes that the conference is “a great time for faculty and educators to share some scholarly work, establish a national presence for MSUE and themselves, and build their step 3 portfolios.” And she adds, “We really have some great stories to tell!”
