Megghan Honke, Michigan State University Agriculture and Natural Resources Communications educational program coordinator, received an Honorary FFA Degree at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., in October. Each year, at the National FFA Convention, the organization honors those who have provided exceptional service to agriculture, agricultural education or FFA.
Megghan has been the chair of the state FFA Agricultural Communications contest for the past six years and has served as a judge for state leadership contests and state proficiency awards on numerous occasions.
I can’t help but point out that Ms. Honke is a lifelong resident of Shiawassee County, the very county where MSUE funding has been challenged. She’s a great example of how the support of family, schools and organizations like MSUE and FFA contribute to successful, contributing adults. We’re fortunate to have Megghan as a colleague at MSUE, and she is fortunate to have come from the supportive communities in Shiawassee County. Congratulations, Megghan!
