Review university reporting protocols on abuse

University reporting protocols for child abuse, sexual assault and child pornography appear on the Office for Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives Web site at http://www.inclusion.msu.edu/. These protocols apply to all employees and volunteers who perform services for Michigan State University.

We take pride in our efforts to protect children and youth in MSU Extension programs and to create safe and affirming learning environments for our younger participants. Even with that emphasis in our work, there is still room for us to improve and to be even more effective at protecting all participants from personal threats. And I find it heartening that MSU has looked to MSUE for assistance in extending some of our lessons to youth-serving programs offered elsewhere at MSU. Please share the reporting protocols and accompanying FAQ document with all employees (including student employees) and volunteers.

Direct any questions to the Michigan State University Police, the Office for Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives or the Office of the General Counsel.
