Dr. Mary Hausbeck, professor of Plant Pathology, Michigan State University Extension specialist and AgBio researcher, is one of ten MSU faculty to be named University Distinguished Professors this year. This is a great honor and recognition of her excellent Extension work and research on disease and disease management in vegetable and greenhouse crops.
The designation is bestowed on individuals who have been recognized nationally – and usually internationally – for the importance of their scholarly achievements and public service. Their work and the recognition that comes with it also bring more distinction to MSU.
Anyone who knows or has worked with Mary knows that she is dedicated to working with growers and the industries she serves, and that she works tirelessly to solve disease problems in crops. Mary is also an excellent mentor to her graduate students and through this work, is preparing the next generation of plant pathologists.
Please join me in congratulating Mary on this well-deserved honor.
